WHERE DID WE GO WRONG? WAKE UP NIGERIAN YOUTHS (Prof Wole Soyinka)

Awolowo was 37 years, Akintola 36, Ahmadu Bello 36, Balewa 34, Okotie-Eboh 27, & Enahoro 27 and they led the struggle for Nigeria Independence after the death of Macaulay. Only Zik was 42 at the time.
In 1966, the first coup was led by: K Nzeogwu who was 29 years and countered by M Mohammed 28, T Danjuma 28, Babangida 25, Garba 23, Sani Abacha 23, and Yaradua 23, and brought into power Gowon 32, Ojukwu 33, Obasanjo 29, and Buhari 24.
Most of the military governors who governed the states under the successive military regimes were under 30 years.
The brief democratic dispensation which interjected the military interregnums also saw some Senators, and the House of Representatives, in particular, populated by members under 30.
Under 30’s were also not in short supply with appointments – we have examples of MT Mbu who became foreign affairs minister at 23 and Pat Utomi who became a federal adviser at 27 and so on and so forth.
NOW:
Why is it that this age bracket is today still sleeping in 3 seater chairs in their parents’ homes?
Why is it that this age bracket is today still collecting pocket money from their parents?
Why is it that this age bracket is today still writing JAMB?
Why is it that this age bracket today still sagg their trousers?
Why is it that this age bracket is today still searching for jobs, and not yet married?
Why is it that this age bracket is today no longer qualified to even be leaders of youth wings of political parties?
Why is it that this age bracket is today so docile?
Why is this age bracket today incapable of feeding itself?
Why is it that this age bracket is today barred from even aspiring to certain political offices?
Why is it that this age bracket is today incapacitated, unwilling, unable and incapable of asking questions?
GOD BLESS NIGERIA!

If I were a PRODUCT

If I were a Product,What features will I have to Sweep the Market?

It isn’t up to Decade.
Just few years ago, there have a Consistent RUSH for SMARTPHONES android and the likes.

Ever seen:
Samsung Galaxy Alpha?
Samsung S6 Edge?
HTC One Mini 2
Sony Xperia?
Samsung Galaxy Note?
Infinix Hot?
Infinix Hot Note?

What about the Technos and Blackberries?

SmartPhones is sweeping the Market and Scooping our Money.

I love to think and look into details of things, so I was wondering how this things could have happened such that even Nokia Brand ( which happens to be the Popular Brand for Nigeria Masses) didn’t see this MARKET Sweeping CHANGE coming. Its obvious that something ‘Techer’ is coming.

Deeply thinking about this, it struck me, that the difference between SmartPhones and the Ones we were used to (Nokia 3110c,Motorola Blade, etc) was SMART.

SmartPhone is all about Features!
The Features in which the SmartPhone have been designed are Full of VALUE.
Features that Add Great Worth to Human Creature.

Check the Specifications; The Processor, the Internal/External Memory, The Visual Resolution, the Capacity to receive Crazy Valuable Applications… Little wonder the Rush in the Market Place.

If you were a Product, what Valuable Features do you have that will make people RUSH you?

Nobody buys the 3110c again? Why should i, when another PRODUCT can offer More Value?

In the same organization where 1 staff receives more than others, its all about the Features the Staff possess and the Value the Features Add to the Organization.

In the same Job Interview where 2000 Person applied and only 5 gets the Job, its about the Features and Value that puts them on the Competitive Edge.

What Features do you have?
What Value can you bring?

Keep adding Value!

Good Morning SMARTOne.

Great day

Make Someone Happy

I couldn’t resist sharing this beautiful story!

This story is about a beautiful, expensively dressed lady who complained to her psychiatrist that she felt that her whole life was empty, it had no meaning.

So, the lady went to visit a counselor to seek out happiness.

The counselor called over the old lady who cleans the office floors.

The counselor then said to the rich lady “I’m going to ask Mary here to tell you how she found happiness. All I want you to do is listen to her.”

So the old lady put down her broom and sat on a chair and told her story: Continue reading “Make Someone Happy”

Precaution is More Powerful Than Expertise

At an interview to fill the vacancy of a Field Engineer in a multinational oil company, two competent and qualified Engineers were shortlisted and the company was to decide on who to retain and who to show the red card. They asked them if they could drive and they both answered in the affirmative even though only one of them could drive.

The Head of the Human Resources spearheading the interview cum pruning session then handed his car keys to them to prove their driving skills within the premises. The over-confident applicant collected the car key, opened the car, switched on the ignition, and lighted it up, sped off, swirled, swerved and made some stunts on wheels before parking the car on the same spot to the seeming rousing applause and mischievously knowing smile of the interviewers. The other applicant who could not drive collected the key all the same, opened the car, opened the bonnet, checked the engine oil level, the brake fluid level, the gear oil level and the water in the radiator level. As he closed the bonnet, the chief interviewer walked towards him and said: “Don’t bother driving, you’ve just been hired!”

Precaution is more powerful than expertise! The race is not for the swiftest, but to the wise! Don’t be brash and over-confident. Learn the ropes and never back off from giving your best even If you don’t possess what it takes. That someone is doing it fast doesn’t mean he is doing it right! Direction is more important than speed! Exercise caution and take precaution in the journey of life- that’s how to be recruited into the employment of success…
